We are loaded up and on the road to the Texas Mile in Beeville TX!

We will be attempting to set a new record with the TWINTURBO50.COM Coyote Twin Turbo Mustang 5.0. Our record currently stands at 206 MPH and the overall Mustang record stands at 217 MPH. Click here to watch the video of the 206 MPH record setting run. You can read all about that effort in the November issue of 5.0 Mustang and Super Fords Magazine where it was featured on the cover.

The goal for this round is to eclipse the 210 mark and push the car toward 220 MPH. Featuring an L&M Racing Engines powerplant, all of this is being done with a factory 6R80 6 speed automatic transmission prepped by Circle D Specialties. New for this trip is a different boost controller. We decided to go with the HyperKontrol unit by Hyperaktive. The HyperKontrol Boost Controller allows us to control things in 1MPH increments and has on board datalogging. Initial testing of the controller was done at the NMRA Bowling Green event where the the car was competing in the 5.0 Mustang and Super Fords Magazine’s King of the Street competition. The best run of the weekend was a 9.37@154. We are extremely satisfied with the HyperKontrol setup and highly recommend it. Also new for this trips is brand new 2000cc injectors from Injector Dynamics.

The TT50 will see 25+ psi and over 1100. RWHP for nearly 30 seconds straight at over 4,000 lbs. This is one of the most grueling tests we can think of for the entire setup, engine, transmission and turbo system.

Stay tuned for updates on Power by the Hours’s website and Facebook page throughout the weekend.
