There is not denying that a good exhaust system is a must on any Mustang performance build. The foundation is a set of 1-7/8″ primary longtube headers with off road midpipe. Recently we got together with our partners in performance from Team Lethal and SVTPerformance.com to do a complete install on Team Lethal’s 2015 GT. We did some baseline dyno pulls then installed the complete off road longtube header system with ARH’s all new Pure Thunder Muffler’s(PN ARH-MTC5-1578300FSNC $2869.00). Baseline dyno pulls revealed 408rwhp, after the complete ARH system was installed and tuned we ended up with 434rwhp. That is a 26rwhp gain along with the addition of 14 rwtq. The car sounds great, there are no clearance issues, and after the PBH final adjustments we were ready to rock.
The installation can be done by experienced technician or shadetree mechanic, although we highly recommend going to your local performance shop for a professional installation. We estimate installation of this system to be a solid 7-8 hours of work on a lift.
