If you follow Alex and PBH then you have been watching the progress on Hushmoney. That is Alex’s 1979 Fairmont that has been Coyote Swapped here at PBH. The Powertrain came out of his Red S550 that he had purchased from VMP. That powertrain was stout and help propel the S550 into the low 9’s. Now in the lighter Fox Farimont, we knew it would be able to dip into the 8’s for sure. The recent addition of the Edelbrock 2650 Eforce supercharger would only help with power production and since the car has the proven 4R200 transmission from PBH we knew it was up to the task for sure.
The car has been on the street and running for a bit now but track testing has either been rained out or just not in the cards. So he left early Thursday morning fro South Georgia Motorsports Park to join his Lund Racing teamates at the Mod Nationals. It was a test day but on the 2nd pass of the cars new setup Alex clicked off at [email protected]. The 60ft was soft as these passes were more exploratory than home run swings. Knowing that there is more on the table he planned more passes that day and through out the weekend to see where how low into the 8’s Hushmoney will go.
In the following video and post you will see the car make its 3rd pass and Alex pilot it to a 8.714@156. The car has more in it so the work begins to see exactly how fast it can go.
